Simon Webbe says the group will continue to record solo material Reunited boyband Blue have confirmed they've written new material with R&B singer Ne-Yo in America.

The group broke up in 2005, with all four members pursuing solo careers, but got back together in 2009 and played a UK tour last December.

Duncan James said: "We have been in the studio. We went back in last year.

"We went over to New York and recorded with Jay-Z's people, wrote with Ne-Yo and the stuff sounds really different to anything we've done before."

Describing the sound of the group's new direction he continued: "It's a lot up tempo, it's a lot dancier. It's fresh.

"And I think that if we do decide to release an album, then we have to step up again and come out with an album that is not what people expect.

"The thing I didn't realise about Ne-Yo is that he is such a super talented person. He writes impeccably. It's all him. He does it all."

Other projects

However the foursome - Duncan James, Simon Webbe, Antony Costa and Lee Ryan - are not only focussing on the reunion.

James said he was "really happy" to be starring in musical theatre with a part in newly launched West End musical Legally Blonde.

Boyband Blue released three studio albums between 2001 and 2003 Simon Webbe added: "We've still got individual projects that we're doing and we don't want to rush into it because with Blue it's got to be quality and with quality means time.

"I got a deal in America and then I came back to pack my bags and then I got a call saying, 'Boys, let's have a meeting'.

"I'm going to give it another go, I'm going back to America at the end of this month."

Webbe admits he's itching to get back in the studio again with the rest of the boys.

"It was like magic," he said. "It was nothing but jokes. We hardly write songs, it was just us having a giggle and just enjoying each other's time and it's been a long time to get us all in one room and actually do something where we were in control with it as well."

A title and date for the release of a new album has yet to be confirmed.

allora mi fa piacere che stiano collaborando con Ne-Yo perchè quel cantante è un "mostro" (nel senso buono), fa delle canzoni strepitose che appena le senti inizi a ballare e non ti fermi più.
Poi sono contenta che loro 4 si sentano e prendano insieme decisioni importanti e continuino anche i loro progetti solisti.
Una cosa di cui io non posso più aspettare è il loro nuovo album. *-*
io voglio Ascoltare e Vedere(per i video) cose nuove. *-*

Io CREDO che questa reaunion sarà qualcosa di straordinario, lo credo perchèd a come ne parlano sembrano molto più presi di quanto non lo erano ai vecchi tempi, almeno io la vedo così. Cmq è una cosa gestita da loro, tipo le canzoni che scrivono loro non èp una cosa da tutte le boyband. Poi anche il fatto che vogliono cambiare genere, non lo so tante cose mi fanno cerdere a questo... Sarà semplicemente meglio che mai...xD

loro dicono che è qualcosa di nuovo, che non abbiamo mai ascoltato... beh allora non vedo l'ora di sentire queste nuove canzoni

. poi ankio sn contenta k abbiano collaborato con ne-yo perchè mi piacciono le sue canzoni e il loro ritmo. il nuovo album dei blue dovrebbe uscire a marzo vero?

beh si sa che ogni band nel corso della sua "vita" fa un percorso musicale che parte generalmente con il sound tipico delle bend, ma poi muta a poco a poco che la band stessa muta, cambia i rapporti di loro ecc ecc.
credo che la musica prodotta da una band dipenda anche dalle relazioni tra i suoi componenti.
beh, se cambiano stile o musica credo che sia un bene. è bene non fermarsi sempre al solito sound, no? se no diventa monotono.
spero vivamente che il loro album esca prima della fine dell'anno o anche in 6 o 7 mesi.... hihihih

Sono d'accordo con ciò che dicono Lara e Michela, comunque sono anche contenta del fatto che si stiano impegnando, e non facciano un albumetto così solo per racimolare qualcosa...
E poi quando dicono che vogliono qualità, e qualità significa tempo... *-*
E poi che non vogliono influire nemmeno con le carriere soliste.
Speriamo che sia davvero un bel lavoro... Non vedo l'ora *-*
